That’s essentially the message the former Game of Thrones and Conan star sent out to fan from the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo, while speaking to a packed room.
“I’ve been hanging out with Geoff Johns and he’s a beast. He reinvented the character with the new 52,” said Momoa. “Like it or not, I’m the new f***ing Aquaman buddy.”
Momoa went on to say that his character will need to fit into the DC Universe as first envisioned by director Zack Snyder in Man of Steel. That means a more realistic take on Aquaman.
“It has to be realistic and there’s a lot of stuff in the comics that won’t work on the screen,” said Momoa.
Momoa say the Justice League movie is about a year away from filming, and production on Aquaman won’t begin until 2018.
Momoa will make his Aquaman debut in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, opening March 25, 2016.
