Joel Kinnaman Rumored To Be Frontrunner For Rick Flag In Suicide Squad

Robocop star Joel Kinnaman is rumored to be the frontrunner to replace Tom Hardy as Rick Flag in the Suicide Squad Rumor.

The report suggests that Warner Bros. is looking to make a final decision on the role this week, and that Kinnaman may have landed the role thanks to an impressive audition.

Hardy was originally announced in the role, but left the project due to other commitments. If Kinnaman gets the job, he’ll join Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto as the Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, and Cara Delevingne as Enchantress.

David Ayer will direct Suicide Squad, which opens in theaters August 5, 2016.

UPDATE: THR and The Wrap confirm that Kinnaman is in early talks for the role.
