In 2004, nearly a decade before Colin Trevorrow began work on the 2015 blockbuster Jurassic World, Universal Pictures planned a dramatically different take on the fourth installment of their Jurassic Park franchise. The studio hired two-time Academy Award nominated screenwriter John Sayles (Eight Men Out) to pen a Jurassic Park 4 script and ended up with two drafts. However, the one in question included genetically modified dinosaur-human mercenaries.

The Jurassic World theme park lets guests experience the thrill of witnessing actual dinosaurs, but something ferocious lurks behind the park’s attractions โ a genetically modified dinosaur with savage capabilities. Jurassic World was directed by Colin Trevorrow and written by Trevorrow, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, and Derek Connolly. The cast featured Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D’Onofrio, Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson, Omar Sy, B. D. Wong, Irrfan Khan, and Jake Johnson.
Jurassic World sequel is scheduled to open on June 22, 2018.
