Thanks to Ultra-Combo.com (via Eurogamer), we now have a better idea of who those characters might turn out to be, and they include a few characters from premiere Microsoft franchises. The full list contains 9 possibilities, which includes a Halo Brute, Eagle, Magic Archer, Crackdown Agent, Lovecraftian, Joanna Dark, Djinn, Eyedol, and Wendigo.

Out of the available options, I imagine there will be plenty of supporters for Joanna Dark, mostly because they would just like to see her in something. The Rare created character has yet to fully recover from the blasphemy that was Perfect Dark Zero, and this might be a good step in the right direction for the character. As for the rest, a Crackdown Agent could allow for some cool creativity, but the Brute would seem to be a one trick pony.

The two characters that would be the most interesting in regards to Killer Instinct lore (a term I use rather loosely) would consist of Eagle and Eyedol. Eagle is Thunder’s younger brother, and in one instance eventually becomes a version of Fulgore. Seeing him in his pre-Fulgore form might be interesting. As for Eyedol, the two-headed cyclops was the boss in the original Killer Instinct, and it would be fitting for him to make a return.

Iron Galaxy has had great success with their previous guest characters, which include The Arbiter (Halo), General RAAM (Gears of War), and Rash of Battletoads fame.
