Fans have been waiting patiently for updates on Legendary’s Kong: Skull Island ahead of San Diego Comic Con, so the studio finally indulged their requests by uploading a motion poster for film to Twitter not long ago.

The foggy image shows what appears to be Captain James Conrad (Tom Hiddleston) with his back turned to viewers. Holding a green flare, the man stands on top of a massive gorilla skull. As the camera zooms out, the fog in front of Conrad appears to grow thicker as words emerge onto the screen, reading, “Kong is coming. 3 Days.”
As the cast of Kong: Skull Island is set to appear at SDCC to speak about the project, fans are wondering whether they’ll get a teaser trailer for the film – or at the very least – if they’ll finally see what King Kong will look like. It wouldn’t be too surprising if this motion poster were altered and reintroduced at SDCC because it seems like the clip is holding a secret. I don’t know about you, but I’m curious as to what’s lingering behind the poster’s foggy background. I’d be willing to bet a few banana bunches that Kong’s hiding back there.
Last week, Kong: Skull Island got some major headlines when Entertainment Weekly shared the very first picture from the film. The photo features Capt. Conrad alongside Weaver (Brie Larson) as their team explores a graveyard filled with gigantic bones. Clearly, the remains belong to one of Skull Island’s monstrous apes, and it seems like the exploration team has only just realized the kind of trouble they’ve stumbled upon in the stunning photo.
Since the film was frist announced, information regarding the project has been scarce, so fans are expecting details to be released this weekend at SDCC. So far, fans only know that the film will follow a team of researchers as they explore Skull Island to document the mysterious locale. However, the group quickly discovers the island is filled with enormous monsters and that they must find a way to survive.
