Looks like the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is getting a makeover.
Collider is reporting that during the TCA’s, producer John Davis spoke about the franchise and cites the recent summer blockbuster Mad Max: Fury Road as an inspiration on how he can fix it.

“Just by going back to the roots and making it authentic to what the fan base was really excited about,” Davis said. “It’s female-centric, which I think is interesting. I love female characters, point-of-view characters in action movies. I thought [Fury Road] was great. I think you can always find a fresh way of doing something and going back to the basics. What is that people love? What is it that made them love the property in the first place?”
It’s interesting to note that Davis wants to go back to the origins of the comics. The team was actually led by Mina Murray (from Bram Stoker’s Dracula) and it was her task to assemble the team, not Alan Quartermain (played by Sean Connery). Characters Dorian Grey and Tom Sawyer were adding for the adaptation, but should the reboot stick to the script, so to speak, it might have a chance of redemption.
Readers, would be in interested in seeing a reboot of the franchise? Are you willing to give it another shot, or did the first one leave too much of a bad taste?
