If you’re on the internet, you’ve probably seen Amy Schumer’s cover shoot for GQ magazine, which includes her in the Princess Leia “gold bikini,” in bed with two famous droids, and, uh, doing things with a lightsaber (the image above is the only one without very sexually suggestive imagery). The Star Wars props in the shoot prompted some to ask why Lucasfilm and Disney would allow their properties, typically kept in the PG range, to be used in such a “distasteful” or “lascivious” manner.
Well, they answered that question, using the official Star Wars twitter account, and simply, they did not allow it.

The next question is, of course, how GQ can use the trademarked imagery for monetary gain, and that’s one I’m sure Disney’s lawyers are exploring right this moment.
