After very little Man of Steel news recently, it looks like the director and cast are finally out talking. Well, actually they are out talking about other projects, but everyone keeps asking them about Man of Steel. Earlier today, we heard from Amy Adams who loved the Man of Steel trailer and would be more than happy to do a sequel. Now, we have an update from director Zack Snyder, thanks to an interview about Watchmen in the LA Times Hero Complex. For anyone worried that we might get a repeat of 1997’s Batman & Robin, you can set your mind at ease. Zack Snyder says Man of Steel will be “a more serious version of Superman.”Snyder added, “It’s not like a heart attack. We took the mythology seriously. We take him as a character seriously. I believe the movie would appeal to anyone. I think that you’re going to see a Superman you’ve never seen before.”In addition to taking Superman seriously, Zack Snyder didn’t look to the previous Superman films for reference. He’s essentially doing his own thing with Superman. Snyder said, “We approached it as though no other films had been made. He’s the king-daddy. Honestly that’s why I wanted to do it.”Snyder also expresses a lot of respect about the character calling him “the father of all superheroes” and an “amazing ambassador for all superheroes.” Hmmmโ€ฆ ambassador of superheroes, could Man of Steel be setting Superman up to form the Justice League?
