USA Today reveals that their new master will in fact be the “dangerously charming” Scarlet Overkill, voiced by Oscar winner Sandra Bullock (“Gravity”). This late 1960s villain has a partner in crime, her husband and fellow villain, Herb Overkill (voiced by Jon Hamm). What makes their relationship a bit unusual is that Herb actually took her last name instead of her taking his. Now, that’s a devoted husband.
And what do the Minions get out of this relationship?
The Minion trio adopt Overkill’s high-flying lifestyle, admiring everything from her stolen jewelry to her castle outside of London and rides in private jets. The new connection also brings the Minions to the cutting edge of the era’s weaponry, from lava guns to hypnotizing helmets. – USA Today
