Yes folks, The Iron Panda is a real thing—or, a real statue in China at least. Designed by sculptor Bi Heng, this 9-meter high, 7-meter wide celebration in anthropomorphic heroism stands proudly in China’s Shenyang, Liaoning province.

Heng claims that the Panda symbolizes the balance with nature that mankind must maintain while advancing technology. As he put it, Iron Panda “[I]mplies sad feelings under the steel behemoth’s domineering appearance. Mankind are showing pointless power to nature but, destroying everything for their survival at the same time. The art work implicates the relationship between industrial technology development and natural ecological should be smooth rather than rushed.”

True, but it’s also just a bear in an Iron Man suit. And we’re ok with that.

What do you think of the Iron Panda, readers? What might Tony Stark call this suit—the Mark P?
