The show was wildly entertaining, but had a great sense of grim self-awareness. All of the marketing for the first season of the series urged fans to “look away”, and that the events surrounding the children in the show were too unfortunate to witness.

The tone continued today, as Netflix found a fun and cryptic way to announce the second season of the popular series.

This morning, Netflix unveiled a small teaser, full of narration by Patrick Warburton’s Lemony Snicket. The words he spoke were spiraled around the screen, and certain letters unveiled a code for fans.

Give the code a try, and see if you can figure it out before reading any further. It’s a fun little hunt for the announcement if you follow the code.

If you watch the video closely, you’ll see some words turn to yellow, instead of white. When you put them all together, the message reads, URL www.VastlyFrighteningDecision.com.

Upon heading to that website, you’ll find a note from Lemony Snicket. It tells fans that the series was so unfortunate, that the cast and crew couldn’t bear to do anymore. However, the fans loved watching their misery so much, that Netflix announced a second season.

This is a hilarious adventure for fans to embark on, and it’s a nice puzzle for fans who love the series. The second season of A Series Of Unfortunate Events is definitely underway, and viewers couldn’t be more excited.
