The new Russian superhero team the Guardians just so happen to have the services of one such hero, along with a man who can turn his arms into battering rams made of stone, a woman who can fade from sight at will, and a skilled acrobat who can cut anything with his twin blades. Not a bad lineup and they’ve received a brand new trailer.
The newest clip gives fans a bit more history on the group, protectors who were enlisted to defend mother Russia long ago. Ever since the old powers fell, they’ve been living their lives in secret, but now find themselves needed once again after an evil from the country’s past resurfaces.
Russia’s superhero epic definitely catches your attention. The action in the trailer looks slick, and the expectations for the film are quite high, as it’s already been greenlit for a sequel. The film stars Valeriya Shkirando (Elena Latina), Alina Lanina (Kseniya), Anton Pampushnyy (Arsus), Sanzhar Madiyev (Khan), and Sebastien Sisak (Ler), and is directed by Sarik Andreasyan.
During the Cold War, an organization called “Patriot” created a super-hero squad, which includes members of multiple soviet republics. For years, the heroes had to hide their identities, but in hard times they must show themselves again.
Guardians hits Russian theaters on February 23rd, 2017.
