Press and fans who are attending this week’s CES conference will be the first to test out the new Power Rangers Zords Rising VR experience, but the studio hasn’t forgotten about those who aren’t attending the annual event.

For those who couldn’t make the show, Lionsgate and Qualcomm have released a new image showing off what the experience will look like. As you can see in the gallery, Alpha 5 stands next to the 5 holographic-like personas of the Power Rangers, with a green alien-like device in the background. That appears to be Zordon if previous images from CES are to be believed, who will presumably talk to you throughout the experience. No sign of the Battle Zords yet, but being that the experience is called ‘Zords Rising”, the assumption is that they will play a big part.
“We’re delighted to team with Qualcomm Technologies on a virtual reality experience that will bring fans closer to the action of Saban’s Power Rangers as they prepare for the film to arrive on the big screen,” said Paula Kupfer, senior vice president, global partnerships and promotions, Lionsgate. “Qualcomm Technologies’ cutting-edge VR technology provides a platform for a compelling Power Rangers experience and represents a major evolution in the fidelity and immersion made possible through mobile VR.”
You can head to the Qualcomm Technologies booth #10948 to test it out for themselves.
“Saban’s Power Rangers follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers.”
Power Rangers stars Bryan Cranston (Zordon), Elizabeth Banks (Rita Repulsa), Naomi Scott (Kimberly/Pink Ranger), David Denman (Sam Scott), Becky G. (Trini/Yellow Ranger), Sarah Grey (Amanda), RJ Cyler (Billy Cranston/Blue Ranger), Emily Maddison (Rebecca), Ludi Lin (Zack Taylor/Black Ranger), and Dacre Montgomery (Jason Lee Scott/Red Ranger).
Power Rangers is set to land in theaters on March 24, 2017.
