In the immortal yet slightly altered words of Sir Mix-A-Lot: We like big Pokemon butts and cannot lie. Okay, so the lyric change is admittedly a bit odd, but it’ll all make sense once you see Olena Mysnyk’s Pokemon-inspired bookmarks. The hand-made pieces will make some very familiar creatures burrow head-first into the pages of your favorite books. Just, keep in mind you’ll only be seeing the tail-end of each Pokemon as they travel through their trainers’ libraries.

Created by Olena, a Ukrainian artist, the bookmarks are currently up for pre-sale through her company, My Bookmark. Describing her Pokemon pieces as the “perfect gift for readers and gamers, boys and girls, men and women,” Olena has perfectly crafted several adorable ‘butt’ bookmarks for the pocket monsters.
So, if you ever wanted Pikachu to perhaps challenge Zeus up in Olympus, then you can stick the critter into Percy Jackson and the Lightening Thief. If you find Charmander is in desperate need of a math lesson, students can choose to use the pocket monster in for their textbooks. Honestly, the possibilities are endless. I would be amiss to admit my own intentions in using the artist’s Eevee bookmark in all my Pokemon manga.
The bookmarks will officially go on sale starting August 15th, and each piece will run you about $25. Sure, the price is a little steep, but you’re getting a hand-crafted bookmark complete with polymer clay and metal sculpts. If you have the money and the will, you might as well throw a Master Ball at the critters before they sell out.
And, what’s more, a trip to Olena’s site reveals her interest in other franchises than just Pokemon. The artist also has Harry Potter, Hobbit, and Games of Throne bookmarks as well. Whether you want The Wicked Witches’ sock peeking from your books or Squirtle’s curly trail, the choice is yours. Unless you want to catch ’em all, this is.
