“Queen and Country” Lands Condal as Draft Writer

Comic book writer Greg Rucka’s Oni Press now has a draft writer for its long-languishing film adaptation of Queen and Country, a comic book centering on a female Special Ops field agent who is involved in an assassination of a high-ranking official in Europe and finds herself on the run after that event.Ryan Condal has been tapped as a draft writer on the project, and he’s already been gathering a name for himself in comic book and film circles.A film on Hercules, under production by Universal and Spyglass, is also on Condal’s list of projects, and his work on last year’s Arthurian legend story Galahad certainly had a lot to do with that.Queen and Countryis currently under development as an action series at Fox, and movement on the project is expected to continue forward.
