The next major addition to the U.S. Disney Parks and Resorts, Star Wars Land, will officially break ground next month, Bob Iger announced during a Disney shareholders presentation. The project will begin simultaneously at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA and Walt Disney World Hollywood Studios in Orlando, FL.
The Star Wars Land projects will see new rides and attractions in an area unlike any before developed for Disney Parks. The lands will offer total immersion in the Star Wars experience, with castmembers working and wandering the area as aliens, droids, and famous Star Wars faces fans know and love. Details on the rides haven’t been given yet, though one has been confirmed as a Millennium Falcon flight simulator, putting you in Han Solo and Rey’s pilot seat.
