The Ghost crew touches down, and Rex tells them the planet is hot and dry, but at least nothing’s trying to kill them. Of course, that’s when a Rebel setting up the perimeter meets one of the giant spiders on the planet.
Kanan and Ezra plan to leave, as Kanan discusses with Hera. “We can’t hide from the Inquisitors forever,” he says. He’s reached an understanding about their need to be part of the larger Rebellion, though โ growth! They’re just waiting for Ahsoka to return, and they’ll be leaving, at least for a time.
Rex and Sabine go to check on the lost Lieutenant, and Ezra finds Zeb to have a similar conversation to the one Kanan and Hera just had. Ezra’s apprehensive, and Zeb says, “you’ll be back.” This is some scary foreshadowing conversation going on.
Rex and Sabine find the LT’s helmet, and are promptly greeted by several of the giant spider creatures. Sabine gets knocked out, and Rex gets overwhelmed. A well-placed shot to the eye takes these things down, and Sabine makes a stand by the perimeter post, which somehow keeps the things away. The rest of the Ghost crew shows up to help her and drives off the remaining ones.
Rex and LT Dicer were taken by the creatures, and the crew goes in search of their friends. Entering a cave system, they split up, and Hera tells Ezra to go with Kanan. “We’ve gotta get used to not having them around.”
Ezra and Kanan find one of the creatures, and Ezra reaches out through the Force, as he has in the past. When the creature startles, Kanan jumps in, killing it.
The other team of Sabine, Zeb, and Hera find a cavern that looks like it’s some kind of breeding ground. After freeing Rex (the LT is nowhere to be seen), they start to make their escape. Just as they’re boxed in, Kanan and Ezra come to the rescue, something Hera very acutely notices. They get into the Ghost, but it’s been webbed to the ground.
The crawlers are easily standing up to the Ghost’s cannon fire, and even an electric shock won’t get them off the hull.
FINALLY, Sabine notices they won’t go near the sensor marker. Ezra comes up with the plan to get it โ he and Kanan will Force throw Sabine to it โ “Times like these I really wish I had a jet pack,” she says โ nice one, kid. They throw her โ a little too far. She just manages to climb up and get the sensor marker, and it seems to keep the creatures at bay. They get on the Ghost and away to safety.
Kanan and Hera are clashing โ and he doesn’t totally see it. Sabine gives him a bit of a talking to, saying he needs to say something to her.
Kanan tells Hera, “We’re going to be okay,” and she says, “You realize I know when you’re lying.” He promises they’ll see each other again and embraces her, but the knowing look is that he’s really not sure.
Ezra tries again to connect with one of the spider creatures, and they resist again โ as he lays back, sees some owl flying around them, and then – Vader’s theme plays. Uh-oh. Ahsoka arrives and tells him, “Just when you think you understand the Force, you realize you little you know. They “get going,” and Vader’s theme plays again. Hour long season finale next week.
