In any event, he’s got a pretty impressive beard going in the photo below, in which he and co-star Carrie Fisher made an appearance together in Los Angeles at a gala for the Midnight Mission, a homeless charity celebrating its 100th anniversary.
Hamill recently told BBC News that Episode VII “[is] really about the new generation of characters. We’re just there to lend support, and grow contractually obligated beards.”
On that score, he seems to be doing just fine — and both he and Fisher look fitter than they have in years. She’s got a way to go on her beard, though.
Star Wars Episode VII is expected in theaters on December 18, 2015.
