One character in particular became a huge fan-favorite, despite only being featured in a few episodes.
Barb, the red-headed best friend of Nancy Wheeler, became beloved by fans almost instantly. Her reserved nature and voice of reason resonated with many viewers, and they were all upset to see her go so early.
Even after the character was killed, she remained the talk to the Stranger Things town. Fans continue to ask producers when Barb will return, no matter how many times they’ve stated that she’s gone for good.

The CW has released the first image of Purser’s character on the new show, and has stated she’s set to appear in Thursday’s episode.
The character is named Ethel Muggs, a classic character from the Archie comics. In the source material, Ethel was famous for always trying to get a date with lead character Jughead.
