The Steam summer sale is like a new holiday tradition almost, without all the unnecessary drama of assembling your entire family under one roof, inevitably setting off an argument about why Aunt Nadine insists on wearing that pungent perfume or why Cousin Carl continues to give noogies to everyone he sees.
The sale got off to a bit of a slow start today, as the original announcement saw the site crash under the extreme interest. It seems to be doing much better now, only dropping out occasionally.

Day 1 has some pretty sweet deals, marking the recent Stoic release The Banner Saga 2 off by 20% to $15.99. The Assassin’s Creed series is marked down as well, with Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag a paltry $7.49. The 11-bit studios title This War Of Mine (PC & Mac) is extremely cheap right now at $4.99 and Darkest Dungeon (PC & Mac) from Red Hook Studios sees a $10 dollar price drop as well.
If you haven’t picked up Orcs Must Die 2, it’s on sale for the cheap asking price of $3.74. Also on sale is the relatively new release from Bethesda, the well received Doom. The title is marked down by 40% to just $35.99. New deals will be popping up throughout the week, and the sale officially ends on July 4th at 10 AM (PDT).
