Even while the Oscars is on, AMC’s The Walking Dead perseveres.Tonight’s episode didn’t have the key thing that stirs people up on social media, but it was a strong episode with some great moments. Our favorites? Read on…The Governor’s revealThey milked it for all it was worth, and in the end we got a our first good, long look at the Governor. Not “Phil, the guy who runs the joint,” but The Governor, as seen in the comics, and like dropping Vader’s helmet over his head, it’s clear that something inside of the man slipped into joint finally and he’s gone from a dangerous sociopath with little direction to an approximation of the character comic fans were expecting when he was cast. That it took so long to get him to this point seems likely to virtually guarantee he won’t die this season; Kirkman has too much fun writing the character and it would be shocking to see him killed off right after he goes full evil.Andrea’s homecomingAlright, so we’ll admit it: After this week’s episode, we’re just plain tired of Andrea. The next two might seem a little mean…but damn, were they satisfying.Seeing Rick and the rest treat Andrea just like they’d treat anybody else who wandered in out of the woods and claimed to be friendly when they KNEW for sure she’d been fraternizing with the enemy, for example. She thought it was way over the line, and some viewers might, too…but not me. I thought it was exactly what anybody would do, given the circumstances.
