The X-Files Finishes First In Monday Night Ratings Again

For the second week in a row, The X-Files has led the Monday night ratings for scripted TV — but this week, with the Iowa Caucuses dominating most of the TV viewing, almost every scripted show took a significant hit in the ratings.

The X-Files dropped .6 to a 2.6 rating among adults 18-49, while Lucifer scored a 1.9 in the following hour. Supergirl scored a 1.5 in the demo, down .3 from last week. Supergirl and The X-Files both improved significantly in Live+3 numbers last week, and Supergirl, like most genre shows, enjoys a strong Live +7 bump as well. The X-Files has been outpacing Gotham, so Supergirl has likely been taking more of a hit on the night of broadcast, and then enjoying a larger bump after.

The X-Files will be on for three more weeks, followed by the return of Gotham. Supergirl and Lucifer have orders of 20 and 13 episodes, respectively, so are both likely to end a little earlier than most shows this season.
