Adorable is not a word I would use to describe a Xenomorph from the Alien franchise, but that is exactly how the extraterrestrial species is depicted in Joey Spiotto‘s book, “Alien Next Door.”

Instead of hunting down Ripley, Spiotto’s friendlier Xenomorph gives her a haircut. Actually, it is a buzzcut, which I assume is a reference to Sigourney Weaver going bald for her Alien 3 role. There’s also a cute illustration of Ripley shooting hoops with the acid-blooded creature. That’s probably a reference to the Alien: Resurrection (1997) basketball scene in which Ripley shows off the new skills she acquired from having her DNA merged with a Xenomorph’s. Fun fact: Weaver actually hit that impossible behind-the-back shot.

“Alien Next Door” – See a new, caring side to the legendary science fiction monster as he tends to Jonesy the cat, endeavours to keep his house cleaner than the Nostromo, and searches for his place on a cold, new, alien world: Earth. From facehuggers to feather dusters, discover how the perfect killing machine relaxes after a day of scaring space marines.

“Alien Next Door” will be officially released November 3, 2015. You can order a copy at Amazon by clicking here.
