While many actors shy at the idea of entering a multi-picture contract with Marvel Studios, fearing that the time commitment may keep them from pursuing other projects, Thor star Chris Hemsworth says that Marvel’s deals really aren’t that bad.

In a recent discussion with CinemaBlend, Hemsworth opened up about his lengthy contract with Marvel. When asked what he thought of other actors’ complaints towards Marvel’s contracts, Hemsworth had this to say:
“I can’t speak for anyone else, but for me it’s been nothing but a blessing to do the Marvel stuff. It opened up every door available to me. Right back after Thor when I did Rush, Ron [Howard] had seen Thor and saw something there and met with me. That was the beginning of that.”
To date, Hemsworth has appeared in three Marvel features: Thor, The Avengers, and Thor: The Dark World. He has two more turns as Thor scheduled in Avengers: Age of Ultron and Thor: Ragnarok, plus another unannounced Marvel film before his contract is complete. (Many suspect that it will be in Avengers: Infinity War Pt. 1 or Pt. 2.) But even with a hefty serving of Marvel films, Hemsworth said that since the studio has spaced each Thor film far enough from each other, he has enough time to tackle other projects.
So no more excuses, Hollywood. Your spandex awaits.
Hemsworth will appear as Thor this spring when Avengers: Age of Ultron opens on May 1st.
