The public (or at least people on the Internet interested in such things) are being treated to their first look at the upcoming Colin Farrell-driven remake of Total Recall, courtesy  a leak. According to Bleeding Cool, who are running the clip, the footage was intended to be shown at WonderCon this weekend.ComicBook.com is not embedding the clip here due to requests made by the copyright holders to remove the footage from a number of other sites.Due in theaters in August, the film features an all-star ensemble supporting Farrell, including John Cho (of Harold & Kumar fame) and Breaking Bad‘s Bryan Cranston. According to the Bleeding Cool report, this footage has been circulating at conventions and the like for a while, although this is the first time that it has surfaced with its digital effects intact and gives a much clearer sense for what the movie will look like than did previous screenings of the unedited footage.Based on a story by Blade Runner writer Philip K. Dick, Total Recall was adapted into a successful film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 1990s. A second film in the franchise was written based on Dick’s short story Minority Report, and was never filmed. According to Wikipedia, that script went through a number of changes before eventually being the basis for the actual Minority Report script used in the 2002 Tom Cruise vehicle.
