artist Sara Pichelli has apparently revealed a major, upcoming All-New X-Men plot via social media — that Ultimate Spider-Man Miles Morales will join Marvel’s merry mutants. Both Pichelli and series writer Brian Michael Bendis, who created Miles Morales, have separately identified the cover as “real” via social media. Now, of course it’s worth noting that in one of his earliest appearances, Spider-Man attempted to join the Fantastic Four and failed — but one of the big questions here is just how Miles might come to be with the All-New X-Men team when he’s already back at home in the Ultimate Comics universe. Is this the Miles Morales of Earth-616, teased at the end of Bendis and Pichelli’s Spider-Men miniseries? Or something else? You can check out the cover preview above — and social media confirmations from Bendis and Pichelli below. While any time you get a massive reveal like this via social media from a creator, it’s pretty suspect (remember Dan Slott’s “Superior Spider-Man is Miguel O’Hara” tweet?), the information is automatically suspect, this is certain to be an issue that pumps some extra interest into All-New X-Men, a book that has rarely let its foot off the gas since the start of the Marvel NOW! relaunch.
