AMC released a new trailer for the upcoming third season of their mega-hit zombie drama The Walking Dead last night, along with a trio of fifteen-second spots that help re-establish the rules: “This is not a democracy anymore,” says Rick, “I didn’t ask for this,” and in the third, “We’re all infected.”The trailer itself is made up of new footage, albeit quite a bit of footage that we’ve already seen. It begins with The Governor saying, “Welcome to Woodbury,” a remark that’s sure to chill fans of the comics who know what the survivors will deal with there. It also reinforces the “Fight the dead, fear the living” logline for the third season, and teases a bit more about the downed helicopter that was first seen (in the air) in the pilot episode and later seen (in not such great shape) during the second season.Fans also get a much closer and much more in-depth look at the prison than they’ve seen up until now, as well as brief glimpses of a number of high-octane action sequences, at least one of which seems to involve the survivors facing off against living humans rather than zombies at the prison (Rick seems to be shouting orders, although frankly it’s difficult to understand what he says). The Walking Dead, which stars Andrew Lincoln, Sarah Wayne Callies, David Morrissey, Danai Gurira and an ensemble cast. Season one favorite Michael Rooker will return as Merle, as well. It’s based on the best-selling Image Comics/Skybound series by Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard. The series will return to AMC on October 14 and, if you look carefully, you can see that AMC wants to be sure you know it’s not available on Dish Network.
