Gotham

ย

Season Two Begins: September 21, 2015.

Where Last Season Left Off: Penguin emerged as the unexpected winner of Gotham’s gang war, defeating Fish Mooney, Carmine Falcone and Don Maroni. Barbara Kean was locked up in Arkham after she tried to kill her ex-fiancee’s new girlfriend Leslie Tompkins. And Bruce discovered that his father had a hidden staircase in his study.

What Might Happen This Season: While Gordon’s quest to rid Gotham of corruption is aided by a new police captain, more future Batman villains will continue to appear. In addition to Firefly and Hugo Strange showing up in some capacity next season, a new version of the classic DC villain the Tigress will also appear and will shake Gotham’s underworld up with the help of her brother Theo Galavan, a billionaire businessman with an unknown agenda. We’ll also see the return of Jerome, the boy who may or may not become the Joker, as an Arkham inmate and ally to the recently incarcerated Barbara.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

ย

Season Three Begins: September 29, 2015

Where Last Season Left Off: With SHIELD officially reformed, Coulson lost a hand but won the war against a rogue faction of Inhumans led by Skye’s mother. A mysterious Kree weapon caused Simmons to disappear right after she hinted that she might be romantically interested in Fitz. Skye (now calling herself Daisy Johnson) joined a TV version of Secret Warriors and Ward took over Hydra after vowing revenge on the organization for the death of his lover Agent 33.

What Might Happen This Season: SHIELD will fight on against both Hydra and a new government team called the Advanced Threat Containment Unit, which is seeking out Inhumans and other powered humans. They’ll also have to deal with Lash, an Inhuman who’s gathering his own team for unknown purposes.

The Flash

ย Season Two Begins: October 6, 2015

Where Left Season Left Off: Barry resisted the urge to save his mother and disrupt the timestream. After the Flash stopped the Reverse-Flash from returning to the future, Eddie committed suicide in order to erase the Reverse-Flash from the timeline. Barry, Iris and their friends had little time to mourn Eddie’s sacrifice, as a giant timeline anomaly erupted over Central City, threatening to suck the whole city inside of it.

What Might Happen This Season: The Flash is meetingโ€ฆThe Flash! Multiversal shenanigans will abound next season as Barry travels to Earth-2 and meets Jay Garrick, his counterpart from another universe. Fellow speedsters Wally West and Jessie Quick will also appear this season, and Barry will have a new love interest in Detective Patty Spivot. Opposing the Flash and friends is Zoom, a new speedster described as even more dangerous than the Reverse-Flash. Also, Harrison Wells will return to the show, although how and why has yet to be revealed.

iZombie

ย

Season Two Begins: October 6, 2015.

Where Last Season Left Off: Liv’s quest to stop the evil zombie Blaine succeeded after she injected him with one of two doses of a zombie cure prepared by Ravi. Unfortunately, she had to zombify her ex-fiancee/zombie hunter Major after Blaine stabbed him. Although Liv quickly used the other dose of zombie medicine to turn Major back to normal, Major wasn’t too pleased with her secret life and actions. Liv also learned that her beef against Blaine had one other unintended victim: her brother Evan who was in critical condition after getting caught in an explosion set off during Major’s fight with Blaine. While Liv’s blood would save Evan’s life, it would also turn him into a zombie.

What Might Happen This Season: The explosion that nearly killed Evan will play a major role in the upcoming season, as it will lead Liv’s police partner Clive to start asking questions. Clive’s boss was secretly one of Blaine’s goons, so Liv may soon have another important person in her life learn some dangerous secrets. Also, both Blaine and Major will have to deal with side effects from the zombie cure while Liv will deal with her zombie instincts growing stronger and stronger.

Arrow

ย

Season Four Begins: October 7, 2015

Where Last Season Left Off: Oliver and Felicity left Starling City as an official couple after Oliver killed Ra’s al Ghul as he attempted to wipe out Starling City. Malcolm Merlyn became the new Head of the Demon, while Diggle, Laurel and Thea (now donning Roy’s old costume) stayed behind to protect Starling City from new threats.

What Might Happen This Season: Oliver and Felicity will return to Starling City (now renamed Star City) to help Diggle fight Damien Darkh and his sinister HIVE organization. This season will be personal for Diggle, as it was HIVE who hired Deadshot to kill Diggle’s brother. Other new characters appearing this season include Anarky and Mr. Terrific. John Constantine’s also appearing in an episode to help Oliver’s team deal with a magical problem that may be tied to the return of one of the show’s departed characters.

The Walking Dead

ย

Season Six Begins: October 11, 2015

Where Last Season Left Off: Although many of Alexandria’s residents considered him dangerous, Rick reestablished himself as a leader in the town after stopping a small walker invasion inadvertently caused when Father Gabriel left the gate to the walled community open. Rick then kills Pete, Jessie’s abusive husband, under orders from Deanna after Pete accidentally killed her husband while trying to kill Rick. Oh, and Morgan (Rick’s friend from the pilot episode) has finally met up with the main cast, just in time to watch Rick execute a dude.

What Might Happen This Season: Last season teased the Wolves, a hostile group of human survivors lurking close to Alexandria who mark walkers with a “W” for still unknown reasons. The Wolves could be a television counterpart to either the Saviors or the Scavengers, two groups from the comic who both impact Rick and his friends in major ways. Expect a major confrontation and more tragic deaths, because that’s just what The Walking Dead does.

Supergirl

ย

Season One Begins: October 26, 2015

What Might Happen This Season: Since the show hasn’t come out, it’s hard to say what direction the show will go. We know that a lot of classic Superman and Supergirl villains will appear, including Vartox, Reactron, Livewire, Hellgrammite and Non. We also know that T.O Morrow and Red Tornado will play a part in at least one episode and that a love triangle of sorts will emerge between (sexy) Jimmy Olsen, Supergirl and Lucy Lane.

Jessica Jones

ย

Season One Begins: November 20, 2015.

What Might Happen This Season: We know that Jessica Jones will come into conflict with the Purple Man, who in the comics caused an end to Jones’ superhero career. Both Patsy Walker (aka Hellcat) and Luke Cage will also play roles in the new Marvel/Netflix series. ย However, just as Daredevil kept its plot pretty close to the chest, don’t expect to learn much about the show until Netflix releases all the episodes at once in November.ย ย

Legends of Tomorrow

ย

Season One Begins: Sometime in January 2016

What Might Happen This Season: We know that the motley team of DC heroes and villains will fight Vandal Savage across both time and space and that Hawkman will also appear as a series regular. The annual Arrow/Flash crossover will set up Legends of Tomorrow and introduce Hawkman to the DC Television Universe.

Marvel’s Agent Carter

ย

Season Two Begins: ABC has yet to announce a premiere date, but the show should still replace Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD during that show’s winter break.

Where Last Season Left Off: Agent Carter and her SSR colleagues stop Leviathan’s plans to spray New York City with a gas that causes homicidal psychosis. While jerkwad Agent Thompson gets all the glory, Agent Sousa asks Peggy out, which she politely declines. Also, Howard Stark gives Peggy and her friend Angie one of their homes as repayment for all of Carter’s help clearing his name from bogus weapons trafficking charges.

What Might Happen This Season: Peggy, Agent Sousa and Jarvis are all heading to Los Angeles to fight Madam Masque. The Darkforce, an energy source from the comics, will also play a role in the season somehow. We will also get some teases about Agent Carter’s past, a new romantic interest or two and a rematch against 1940s Black Widow Dottie Underwood.

Lucifer

ย

Season One Begins: Sometime in 2016, presumably in the winter.

What Might Happen This Season: Ever since Fox aired the Pilot episode during Comic-Con, we haven’t heard much about DC’s other, other new series. Based on the pilot episode, it appears that the first season will loosely adapt some of the initial skirmishes between Lucifer and the angel Amenadiel from the comics.

Daredevil

ย

Season Two Begins: Sometime in 2016.

Where Last Season Left Off: Daredevil got an official supersuit from the Gladiator and took down the Kingpin, exposing his criminal empire and stopping him from leaving the city in a brutal beatdown. Matt, Foggy and Karen reunited and sparks started to fly between Matt and Karen.

What Might Happen This Season: Bullets. Lots and lots of bullets. The main antagonist for season two is the Punisher, whose brutal methods will force Daredevil to examine his own morals and style of vigilante justice. Elektra, Daredevil’s ninja assassin ex-girlfriend, will also appear on the show.

Preacher

ย

Season One Begins: Sometime in 2016. Producer Seth Rogan briefly hinted that the show will come out in May 2016 before backtracking and saying that nothing was official yet.

What Might Happen This Season: From what little AMC has released about the show, Preacher appears to be a pretty straightforward adaptation of the comics, which features the preacher Jesse Custer searching for God with his ex-girlfriend and an Irish vampire.
