Lee is the first entertainment legend to appear in Legion M’s VR project, ICONS: Face to Face, which features interviews with the trailblazers who have shaped the entertainment industry, allowing fans to stand virtually face-to-face with them.

“We had this idea of trying to put you in the room with these legendary icons. And we got Stan on board-miraculously,” said Legion M co-founder and president Jeff Annison. “We pitched him this idea, and he really liked our model of a company owned by fans instead of a corporate conglomerate. In fact he said, ‘It’s such a good idea, I wish I’d thought of it myself!’”

In addition to the ICONS: Face to Face footage, the panel will feature an intimate Q&A discussion with Lee and some of his famous fans. Felicia Day (Geek and Sundry, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog), Adam Savage (Mythbusters) and Stan Lee’s manager Max Anderson will share little-known anecdotes about Lee’s life and career and share some of the hilarious encounters he’s had with fans and celebrities.

“I’m thrilled to be on a panel at my favorite place with one of my favorite writers,” said Felicia Day, actress and creator of the blog, Geek and Sundry. “Stan is a legend and an inspiration, and, on top of that, a wonderful person. I’m honored to share the Comic-Con stage with him.”

“Stan Lee made superheroes more super by making them more human, and turned comic books into a cultural juggernaut in the process. I am honored to take in part in celebrating the life’s work of a bonafide legend,” stated Adam Savage, television personality and former host of Mythbusters.

Stan Lee & Friends: A Celebrity Tribute to the Comic Legend will take place in Room 6DE of the San Diego Convention Center on Friday, July 21 at 12:30 p.m.
