Now that the Miles you know and love is with Peter in the Marvel Universe, you’re finally going to get that answer to who the OTHER Miles Morales is! And that’s just the tip of the iceberg as Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli bring you the next heart-stopping adventure for both Peter Parker and Miles Morales!

With the Harbinger Renegades โ€“ Peter Stanchek, Faith, Kris Hathaway, and Torque โ€“ now reunited as a result of his covert manipulations, his ultimate gambit can now begin. But he’s not the only one who has been watching. Major Charlie Palmer has just re-assigned a new division of the militarized psiot hunters codenamed H.A.R.D. Corps to active dutyโ€ฆand they’re about to bring a torrent of blood and calamity roaring into the streets of a major American metropolis for an all-out firefight.

The Harbinger Renegades. Livewire. Alexander Solomon. Generation Zero. Toyo Harada. Secret Weapons. Imperium. None of them are safeโ€ฆand, when the smoke clears, a pivotal Valiant hero will become the first sacrifice of the massive Harbinger War that is to come.

Alright, with that out of the way, here are the five books you should give a chance this week!

Matt Mueller: Hal Jordan And The Green Lantern Corps #24

There’s been a growing alliance between the Yellow and Green of the Lantern Corps, but all of that could crumble with the actions of one Lantern.

With the murder of a Yellow Lantern by an unlikely source, John Stewart is racing to figure out how this could’ve happened, and what caused one of their own to commit such a heinous act. It doesn’t help that the Yellow Lanterns leader, Soranikย Natu, is already peeved at one Green Lantern in particular for hiding a hurtful secret, and this is only going to make matters worse.

Hal Jordan & The Green Lantern Corps #24 is written by Robert Venditti with art by Ethan Van Sciverย and a variant cover by Kevin Nowlan. The official descriptionย is listed below.

Russ Burlingame: Josie & the Pussycats #8

Josie & the Pussycats are heading overseas to conquer Tokyo, and everything seems to be going theirย way. Unless you count the whole Manager showdown that’s happening backstage.

Only one can call the popularย group their client, and the showdown might be even more memorable than the Pussycat’sย performance.

Okay, probably not, but you still don’t want to miss it.

Josie & the Pussycats #8 is written by Marguerite Bennett and Cameron Deordio, with art and aย cover byย Audrey Mok. The official description is located below.

Jamie Lovett: The American Way: Those Above And Below

The talented team of John Ridleyย and Georges Jeantyย team upย once again for The American Way: Those Above And Below.

The book picks up around 10 years since the events of the first series and follows the New American as he adapts to a changingย society and political climate than when he firstย took up the mantle. He’s not the only character you’ll recognize but might be the only hero left fighting for the cause.

The American Way: Those Above And Below is written byย John Ridleyย with art byย Georges Jeanty. The official description is below.

It’s been a decade since the Civil Defense Corps was exposed as a fraud created by the U.S. Government for propaganda purposes. While most of the heroes who survived the catastrophe have retired or disappeared, the New American still carries on, trying to keep communities safe amid the social turmoil of the 1970s. But with the nation split in two over civil rights and the changing political landscape, this isn’t easy.

Some of the American’s former colleagues are on opposite sides of the law: Amber Waves joined a group of domestic terrorists, while Missy, a.k.a. Ole Miss, has thrown her hat into the political ring. As the ground shifts beneath his feet and new threats arise, which side will the American choose?

This sequel to the hit miniseries by the original team of writer John Ridley (Oscar-winning screenwriter of 12 Years a Slave and creator of TV’s American Crime) and artist Georges Jeanty (Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season Eight, Serenity: No Power in the ‘Verse) moves the story forward in history, factoring in how real-life events might be affected by the presence of superheroes, and how those events change the heroes in turn.

The American Way: Those Above And Below is in stores this Wednesday.

Charlie Ridgely: Jean Grey #4

The X-Men are home to some of the most powerful telepathsย on the planet, but there are only a few in the Marvel Universe who know how to take on aย planet-devouringย entityย like the Phoenix.

That’s why Jean Grey’s latest solution to her “Phoenix” problemย resides in getting help from the Unworthy Thor himself, who knows a thing or two about fighting all-consuming forces.

Granted, he’s not in the best shape these days, but at this point, Jean is willing to try anything!

Jean Grey #4 is written by Dennis Hopeless with art by Harvey Tolibaoย and a cover by David Yardin. The official description can be found below.

After an adventure with Namor, the Sub-Mariner, Jean Grey is more determined than ever to escape her predecessor’s fate and when the Phoenix comes for her, she will BEAT THAT BIRD DOWN. And to learn how to go toe-to-toe with a god, she’ll seek out training from a godโ€ฆEnter: ODINSON!

Jean Grey #4 is in stores this Wednesday.

J.K. Scmidt: The Last Song #1

For those looking for something a bit different, Black Mask Studio’s Last Song might be just for you.

The book centers on Nicky and his friend Dreyย as they form a band in the 1980’s. What follows is a unique coming of age story from less than lovely circumstances, as well as the ramifications of stardom.

The Last Song #1 is written by Holly Inerlandi with art by Sally Cantirino. The official description is located below.

Nicky Marshall was saved by rock and roll โ€“ or so he likes to think. An awkward upbringing and turmoil following his father’s suicide led Nicky to form a band called Ecstasy with his childhood friend Drey. The music takes them to Los Angeles, raw and gritty and teeming with personalities.

Nicky thinks they’re ready for stardom, but no one’s ever ready for stardom. This first of four oversized issues begins in the 1980s, grows out of grassroots clubs & introduces Ecstasy to the world โ€“ whether it’s ready for them or not. From the brand new team of Holly Interlandi on scripts and Sally Cantirino on pencils & inks, this unique, heartbreaking story is about letting the music inโ€ฆ how it changes you and affects everyone around you, for better & worse.
