Titan Comics will revive Fighting American, the Cold War superhero created by Captain America co-creators Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, in October, bringing the hero to the present day.

The series, which first launched in 1954, will launch its new first issue on October 11 — Simon’s birthday.

In Titan Comics‘ new Fighting American series, written by Gordon Rennie (2000AD, Starship Troopers) with artwork by Duke Mighten (Judge Dredd), the story continues after Simon and Kirby’s 1954 series, and brings the ’50s-era heroes to the modern day, leaving them stranded in 2017.
