The issue pits Superwoman and her team against Skyhook, a monstrous (in more ways than one) villain introduced during John Byrne’s run on Superman in the ’80s. A child kidnapper and abuser in the 1800s, Aleister Hook’s life could have ended, but instead he made a deal with the demon Blaze, gaining super powers and wings, and becoming the hideously disfigured villain Skyhook.
In the 1990s, he made his way to Metropolis, where he committed a rash of burglaries, kidnapping children and transforming them into demons like him to work by his side. Eventually he seemingly died after a confrontation with Maggie Sawyer, and the children reverted back into human form. He would reappear later, attacking Perry White’s adopted son Keith, but that attempt failed, too, and Skyhook hasn’t been seen since 1995.

“Rediscovery” part one! Superwoman is on the hunt for the man responsible for landing Natasha Irons’ father, Crash, in jail—the deadly Skyhook! But Steel is urging caution, and the three heroes are at odds over how much they can trust Crash’s motives. The true history of Steel’s family tree will be revealed as the group is torn apart.
