Writer James Tynion IV is bringing the Azrael Batman costume back to DC in an upcoming issue of Detective Comics.

With the use of the “#BatAzraelIsBack” hashtag, Tynion seems to confirm that it will be Azrael inside the costume.
In keeping with some of what has happened in the post-Rebirth DC Universe, it seems distinctly possible that this will simply be the new look for Azrael, and not that he will be acting as Batman. The recently-returned Eradicator and Cyborg Superman both brought back their original Reign of the Supermen! costumes, featuring the Superman S-shield and all.
Azrael became Batman following the events of Knightfall in the ’90s, in which Bane broke Bruce Wayne’s back and he was temporarily paralyzed. After briefly appearing in the “standard” Batman costume, he appeared in the “Azrael Batman” suit in Batman #500.
