The Teen Titans have mostly been relegated to animation, but that will soon be a thing of the past thanks to Akiva Goldsman and Geoff Johns.

San Diego Comic-Con is typically a cornucopia of announcements and teasers, and Johns decided to get in on the action with a picture of classic Titans art with the caption (Oh. This also started this week…@AkivaGoldsman #Titans.” Coupled with the recent casting descriptions and filming location details, it seems Titans is really getting off the ground.

The live-action Teen Titans series will be heading to DC and WB’s new streaming service and features Johns, Goldsman, and Greg Berlanti as the showrunners. The show is set to start filming in Toronto on September 25th and will feature a cast that includes Nightwing, Beast Boy, Raven, and Starfire.

Little is known outside of that, but Johns has always had a soft spot for the Titans, and it’s fantastic to see him involved with this series. You can find the image and the show’s synopsis below.

It follows a group of young soon-to-be superheroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In the action-adventure series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes that includes Starfire, Raven and others.

In the meantime, you can catch the Titans in DC’s recently released animated movie Teen Titans: The Judas Contract. The description for the project is included below.

Christina Ricci (Zelda, Sleepy Hollow, The Addams Family) and the late Miguel Ferrer (NCIS: Los Angeles, RoboCop, Crossing Jordan) join the already established Teen Titans voice cast as Terra and Deathstroke, respectively. Returning Titans actors include Sean Maher (Firefly/Serenity, Batman: Bad Blood) as Nightwing, Taissa Farmiga (American Horror Story) as Raven, Jake T. Austin (Wizards of Waverly Place, The Fosters) as Blue Beetle, Brandon Soo Hoo (Tropic Thunder, From Dusk Til Dawn: The Series) as Beast Boy, Kari Wahlgren (Phineas and Ferb, Legion of Superheroes) as Starfire, and Stuart Allan (Batman vs. Robin, Batman: Bad Blood) as Robin/Damian. Gregg Henry (Scandal, The Killing, Payback) voices the villainous Brother Blood.

Other actors and characters joining the cast include Meg Foster as Mother Mayhem, Crispin Freeman as Speedy, Masasa Moyo as Bumblebee, and Jason Spisak as Kid Flash, returning to the role he performed in the fan-favorite Young Justice series.

Teen Titans: The Judas Contract is directed by Sam Liu, written by Ernie Altbacker, and produced by EP Sam Register, Supervising Producer James Tucker, and co-Producer Alan Burnett.
