Last season Sara stepped up as the leader of the team when Rip Hunter disappeared. In the Legends’ final battle with the Legion of Doom Sara found herself forced to have the team interact with their past selves and though they were ultimately able to defeat the Legion Sara’s actions broke time so badly.

The show’s executive producer Marc Guggenheim told EW that in season three, Sara is going to have to deal with her responsibility as team leader for making the call that messed up the timeline.

“She’s found her place as the captain of the Waverider, so unlike last season where it was a little bit of a learning curve, she’s happy to be the captain. One of the things that hang over the whole year is the fact that she has some measure of responsibility for all the anachronisms that they are dealing with,” Guggenheim said.

Some of that responsibility Sara will have to deal with is finding a new way to occupy her time. Rip Hunter will come in with his Time Bureau to fix the problems the Legends caused. When the season starts the team will all be in different places, complete with Sara’s White Canary working a job in retail before getting together to challenge Rip’s Time Bureau and set things right for themselves.

Legends of Tomorrow returns following The Flash on Tuesdays in October.

Once reunited, the Legends will challenge the Time Bureau’s authority over the timeline and insist that however messy their methods may be, some problems are beyond the Bureau’s capabilities. Some problems can only be fixed by Legends.

Supergirl premieres on Monday, October 9th at 8 pm, while The Flash debuts on Tuesday, October 10 at 8 pm. Legends of Tomorrow moves to Tuesdays this Fall, airing right after The Flash on October 10. On Thursday, October 12 at 9 pm Arrow will premiere to round out the DC roster.
