Julian’s Absence From ‘The Flash’ Season 4 Will Be Explained Early On

Team Flash might be missing a member when Season 4 returns, but fans won’t have to wait too long to find out why.

In a recent interview with TVLine, Todd Helbing revealed that there will be a clear reason for the absence of Julian Albert (Tom Felton) from The Flash‘s latest proceedings.

“You’ll see pretty quickly — there’s a reason why he’s no longer with the team,” Helbing explained.

But according to Helbing, whatever is keeping Julian away won’t necessarily be permanent, leaving the door open for him to reappear.

“There’s always the chance that we can see anybody on this show return.” Helbing added. “We’ve had a lot of characters come and go for various reasons, and I don’t think this will be any different.”

Helbing is the latest cast and crew member of The Flash to justify Julian’s upcoming departure, with Danielle Panabaker addressing the fledgling romantic relationship between him and her character, Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost.

“Here’s the one thing I will say about Caitlin’s relationship with Julian last year — I think he was more into her than she was into him.” Panabaker explained earlier this summer. “She was dealing with so much personal stuff, so much turmoil, as she was learning about her powers. So, I think it’s a loss for the show and for Team Flash, but I don’t know that Caitlin feels Julian’s absence as deeply as she felt, for example, [her late fiancé] Ronnie’s absence.”

Fans will have to wait and see how exactly Julian exits when The Flash’s fourth season premieres on Tuesday, October 10th, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
