New Evidence Links Wonder Woman To ‘Flashpoint’ Movie

It looks like the DC Extended Universe has lots in store for Diana Prince. According to a recent article by Deadline, it looks like Wonder Woman will make an appearance in The Flash’s standalone film.

Earlier today, Deadline broke news of Gal Gadot’s interest in Deeper. The film, which also stars Bradley Cooper, is in talks with the Wonder Woman actress – but DC fans weren’t paying attention to that bit. Instead, their attention was focused on another line.

Deadline wrote, “[Gadot] will reprise in the Patty Jenkins-directed sequel and DC spinoffs including the Justice League films and the spinoff for The Flash.” The report gives confirmation to a former report by Forbes which said Gadot was simply expected to take part in Flashpoint.

With two prolific sources reporting on Gadot’s involvement, the chances are good Wonder Woman will star in the Flash standalone. Fans will be excited to see the heroine get another theatrical appearance under her belt, but DC fans are not surprised by the character’s inclusion. After all, Wonder Woman has a lot to do with the actual Flashpoint comic.

If you are not familiar with Flashpoint, then you should know the arc was spurred on by Barry Allen. The hero messes with the timeline when he tries to saves his mother from ever being murdered. The Flash’s plan works, but it ends up creating an alternate timeline where Wonder Woman acts as a major antagonist alongside Aquaman. Superman, Batman, and Cyborg also appear, but they are not the characters fans are used to seeing.

Fans have a while to go before Flashpoint rushes into theaters. The film has yet to pick up a new director, and its supposed 2018 release is all but shot now. With a name like Flashpoint, the movie has a heavy burden to carry with fans, so Wonder Woman may be what the movie needs to lighten its load.
