In the screenshots included in the gallery below you’ll notice Deathstroke in a version of his costume that seems to fit cozily into director Zack Snyder’s vision of the DC Comics universe. Like the classic Deathstroke costume from the comics, it is split between an orange color on one side and a blue-black color on the other. You’ll also notice that the mask only has one eye-hole. Deathstroke only has one eye, and it has long been a character trait of his that he’s bold and confident enough to let his opponent know about his “handicap.”
Some other interesting notes from the setting of the video: Deathstroke looks like he’s walking out of an aircraft, and there looks like a vehicle behind him that could be the Batmobile. The camera also pans around Deathstroke momentarily, showing that the filming is definitely taking place on a professional movie set.
Deathstroke the Terminator, a.k.a. Slade Wilson made his first appearance in New Teen Titans #2 in 1980. Created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez, Deathstroke was primarily a Teen Titans villain for years, and was featured heavily in the Teen Titan animated series. Around the time of Identity Crisis, DC Comics began pushing Slade as a Batman or all-purpose villain. He has since appeared in several cross-media releases, including the Batman Arkham and Injustice video games and the Son of Batman animated movie. He’s also been given his own solo comic book series.
We expect more details about Deathstroke’s role in Justice League and the DC Extended Universe to surface soon. JusticeLeague comes to theaters in 2017.
