Scott Eastwood joined the world of super hero films in 2016 but there is no indication of Eastwood actually portraying any sort of super hero. Instead, the actor took a minor role in DC’s Suicide Squad movie as GQ Edwards.

Assuming his character does not transform into some form of super hero or villain in the DC Films universe, many fans of Eastwood might be disappointed. The actor fits the mold for a number of well-known characters, both from DC Comics and Marvel should they be brought to the big screen.
On the following slides, we run through five comic book characters Scott Eastwood would be a proper fit for.
Nightwing
Nightwing has been a popular selection for Eastwood to play in the DC Extended Universe but that’s mostly because of two factors: A) fans don’t want to accept the fact that Eastwood is just an ancillary soldier and B) they really want to see Nightwing in live-action.
They’re not unjustified desires, though.
Moving forward, the DCEU looks to be bringing a touch of levity to their films starting with Wonder Woman and Justice League. Nightwing would serve as a counter-balance to Ben Affleck’s dark portrayal of Batman. Eastwood is just the guy. A bright smile and bighearted character who can bring intensity on a moment’s notice? Johnny Storm
The torch has been passed to Chris Evans and Michael B. Jordan in the past 20 years but with 20th Century Fox’s Fantastic Four franchise at a hault following a horribly received effort in 2015, it will soon be time to recast the bunch.
Who better for the Human Torch than Scott Eastwood? The young actor can bring a sarcastic touch a levity and humor to Johnny Storm as he flames on across the sky.

Wolverine
Hugh Jackman is bowing out of the coveted Wolverine role after Logan in March. Someone will inevitably have to step into the role (just ask The Joker, Batman, or even Colonel James Rhodes).
Recasting Wolvie will require a younger and intensely physically fit actor who can bring a sense of grit similar to that of Jackman. The son of Dirty Harry should be considered for the role, potentially becoming the face of the X-Men franchise should Wolverine continue to be one of 20th Century Fox’s biggest players in the near future.

Green Arrow
Dipping back into the world of DC Comics, Scott Eastwood’s best fit would undoubtedly be that of Oliver Queen should a young portrayal of the vigilante be introduced into the cinematic world.
Similar to Stephen Amell’s version on the CW, Eastwood could bring a conflicted young billionare to the big screen.ย
GQ Edwards could easily be re-worked as Oliver Queen. The character could be working alongside Rick Flag undercover or with a codename for the events of Suicide Squad. Of course, a high profile figure would likely recognized — especially by the likes of Deadshot.

Gambit
Yes, Gambit has already been cast. Channing Tatum is in the role. But that movie is stalled with little word regarding it’s future. If worst came to worst and the character had to be recast, Scott Eastwood fits the bill.
The biggest challenge here is whether or not Eastwood could bring out the Cajun accent we are all going to be looking for. However, dance moves aside, Tatum and Eastwood are not drastically different actors. Suit him up, give him a deck of cards, and toss him into the next X-Men movie!ย
