Reports about Justice League‘s reshoots cropped up from Batman On Film. The site claims the project is about to film some “significant” reshoots in London, and the photography is set to run between June and July. Said to be beyond “standard pick-ups,” the report says the scope of the reshoots have widened. However, a source close to the film reportedly wants fans to remain optimistic; The reshoots are a normal occurrence when it comes to filming blockbusters, and they don’t mean that Justice League is floundering. In fact, the source told Batman On Film the reshoots will make the flick “the best film possible.”
No confirmation has been given by Warner Bros. or DC Entertainment regarding these claims. The report also suggests that the main cast of Justice League has assembled for the reshoots. Earlier today, Henry Cavill added fire to this speculation when he posted a telling photo on social media. The Superman actor posted a photo of himself partially dressed in his heroic suit whilst in a trailer.
As for reshoots, fans have been expecting Justice League to undergo additional filming following the news of Zack Snyder‘s leave. The director chose to exit the project recently to spend time with his loved ones following the death of his daughter Autumn. Joss Whedon has since taken over Justice League to look over its post-production, and the Avengers director will helm reshoots in Snyder’s absence.
This is not the first time a film within the DCEU has undergone reshoots, and it will not be the last. Suicide Squad had a long period of reshoots following the mixed reception of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Wonder Woman also did reshoots, but its additional scenes were minimal at most.
