Justice League‘s premiere date grows closer with each passing day, and all of the hype surrounding the film continues to expand too. The flick is expected to debut in November as six heroes comprise its all-star lineup, but fans think they have another reason to believe a seventh member may make a surprise appearance.
Earlier today, rumors about a Green Lantern cameo in Justice League reignited thanks to a reported soundtrack listing. The film’s supposed discography was posted to IMDb and has since been pulled down. A screenshot of the list was taken by a fast-thinking fan (via We Got This Covered), and one of its track titles got fans buzzing.
After all, the list does allege that Imagine Dragons will provide a song for Justice League titled “Unite the Seven.” The phrase should be a familiar one as Warner Bros. used the tagline to promote the film at first, but it was soon replaced with “Unite the League.” The exchange was done since the film is only confirmed to feature six heroes, but Green Lantern could add a plus-one to the roster.
Fans have long speculated that a Green Lantern could appear in Justice League. Insiders such as The Wrap’s Umberto Gonzalez have previously teased fans about a Green Lantern cameo, and chatter about the intergalactic hero has only heated up in recent months. The DCEU fandom continues to fan-cast its own ideal Green Lantern, and stars such as Armie Hammer never fail to fall into such lists.
Still, there has been no word from Warner Bros. about any Green Lantern castings. The studio did recently confirm DC Films was still working on its Green Lantern Corps standalone, but there is no time-table attached to the film as of yet. The movie is expected to bring Hal Jordan and John Stewart into the DCEU fully, so Justice League could end with a teaser which introduces the heroes’ patrol squadron.
Of course, there is no way to verify whether the ‘leaked’ soundtrack listing is rooted in any truth, but fans are hoping Imagine Dragons have actually recorded such a single for the film. The rock anthem would not be the first the band has provided for DC Films; Imagine Dragons teamed up with various rappers like Lil Wayne for Suicide Squad‘s “Sucker For Pain.” last year.
