Speaking to Khary Payton ahead of his return to AMC’s The Walking Dead in the midseason 7 premiere this Sunday, ComicBook.com has learned the Payton will reprise the fan-favorite role from Young Justice.
“Oh hell yeah!” Payton said. “Absolutely.”
“I can’t wait,” Payton said. “I absolutely can’t wait. It’s gonna be so much fun just getting back to those stories and getting back to Kaldur and seeing how he grows. He’s one of my favorite characters of all time.”
While we will have to wait on a release date for Young Justice, Payton is ready to tease the big plans which have him particularly excited for going back to the role. “I can’t wait to continue telling that story because we have a lot more story tell.”
Young Justice has been off the air since 2013. Since being off air, fans have been left wondering the fate of Kid Flash who appeared to have sacrificed himself at the end of the second season. When the show returns, we will finally have our answers.
It has been a critically-acclaimed and fan-favorite animated series featuring a large roster of characters from the DC Comics Universe. The series coupled attractive animation and character design with rich, textured, long-form storytelling. Young Justice was watched by 25 million unique viewers in each of its two seasons on Cartoon Network.

Of course, his return to Young Justice will quickly prompt speculation over the fate of The Walking Dead‘s King Ezekiel. With no word on when Season 3 of Young Justice is set to begin production, there is no reason to believe his voice work on the popular series will effect his role on The Walking Dead (which has a production off-season from November to late April).
