“We knew we had something special with Lucifer, from the engaging performances of Tom [Ellis], Lauren [German], and the rest of the charismatic cast, to Len Wiseman’s visually stunning look of the show and the amazing storytelling savvy of the Bruckheimer team,” said Fox Entertainment president David Madden in a press release.
Based on the character created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Keith, and Mike Dringenberg in the pages of DC Comics’ Sandman, the series is a police procedural, with Ellis playing the titular lead. Lucifer, in a state of self-imposed exile from Hell, uses his unique abilities to assist in various police investiagations.
Lucifer averages over 10.5 million viewers across platforms, according to Fox.
Lucifer airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
