It looks like Kevin Smith is headed back to the world of Supergirl!

While the title of Smith’s Supergirl episode is currently under wraps – thanks to the help of a cleverly-placed pen – it appears to be the fifth episode of the season. The episode is written by Eric Carrasco, who penned season two episodes ‘Survivors’, ‘Supergirl Lives’, ‘Exodus’, and ‘Alex’, as well as Cindy Lichtman, who wrote past episodes ‘Manhunter’ and ‘Luthors’.

This is Smith’s third time helming an episode of Supergirl, previously directing ‘Supergirl Lives’ and ‘Distant Sun’. Before that, he lent his talents to the ‘Killer Frost’ and ‘The Runaway Dinosaur’ episodes of fellow The CW series The Flash. Smith has been outspoken about his love for directing both shows, even offering up his talents to some of The CW’s other properties as well.

Given Smith’s adoration for Supergirl, and his penchant for teasing behind-the-scenes elements from production, his episode of the show’s third season is sure to be a highlight for many. And with several new characters entering the fold in season three – such as Reign (Odette Annable), Morgan Edge (Adrian Pasdar), and M’yrnn J’onzz (Carl Lumbly), Smith will have quite a sandbox to play around in.

Ridding National City of Queen Rhea and her Daxamite army was a major win for Supergirl, but one that came at a significant cost, as Kara was forced to sacrifice her budding relationship with Mon-El. When season three returns with all-new supercharged adventures this fall on The CW, Kara and team will come up against a new threat in the form of DC Worldkiller, Reign.

Supergirl premieres Monday, October 9th, at 8/7c, on The CW.
