This week, a war of the worlds is coming to The CW. The network will kick-off its annual superhero crossover extravaganza on Monday when Supergirl airs, and the four-night event promises to leave fans stunned. Melissa Benoist’s Supergirl will team up with the likes of Green Arrow, Flash, and White Canary to help stop a violent alien invasion – but the actress doesn’t seem too worried about the shtick.
After all, the superhero squad has got each others’ backs.

The actress took time to talk about the Invasion! crossover special in a behind-the-scenes interview, and Benoist said the whole thing was very exciting. “It’s really exciting to have everyone in one place. I think we’re all really proud of our shows,” she said. “It’s a weird feeling to be in a room with bunch of people wearing superhero outfits and it’s not like a costume party. It was a cool feeling. And it was basically everyone – everyone, there’s so many people.”
The actress then continued, saying, “I can’t wait for people to see it, but I also was excited to fly in front of everyone. There were a few really awkward attempts, so I did kind of fall on my butt a little bit in front of everyone. But it was a fun; It was a supportive atmosphere.”
If you watch the video, you can see how light-hearted the atmosphere was on set. Benoist can be seen joking around with The Flash‘s Grant Gustin, and the actress even does a little jig mid-air while her stunt harness keeps her afloat.
