Early last year, Fox debuted a fantasy drama series based off one of DC Comics’ cult characters. Lucifer debuted in January 2016 and focused on a character named Lucifer Morningstar from The Sandman. The show is loosely based off the Vertigo series of the same name from writer Mike Carey, although heavily modified to fit a police-procedural format.

Now, having passed their first New Year’s Eve as a cast with a show on the air, members of the Lucifer team have come together to share their New Years resolutions in the video seen above.
Considering the biting wit and sarcasm that’s a hallmark of the series, the stars take it surprisingly seriously, arguing that Lucifer would try to have less sex and Maze would try to control her anger, among other things.

In the comics, Lucifer was introduced in The Sandman as a supporting character. The character acts as the Devil, and Gaiman’s iteration of the hellish lord is a complex one. In the comics, Lucifer has ruled over Hell for 10 billion years and become bored with his feared reputation. He eventually decided to hand over the keys of hell to another character so he could explore the world, but he soon learned that his placement in Hell was not a punishment but a gift.
In his solo series, Lucifer runs a piano bar and learns what exactly free-will means. During his run, Lucifer met up with several different DC characters, including Constantine, star of the Hellblazer comics (and formerly the short-lived NBC series), who was keen on discovering why Lucifer was hanging around outside of Hell.
Lucifer season 2 returns with episode 11 on Monday, Jan. 16, 2017 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on FOX.
