Thanks to Omega Underground, a few audition tapes for Titans were made public not long ago. The short clips, which can be found here, were discovered on Vimeo and see several actors test for the role of Jax. The talent, who are all of Asian heritage, seem to confirm reports that DC is looking to cast an Asian actor for the lead role.
There’s no word on whether the actors found are frontrunners for the role, but Titans isn’t afraid of new talent. The series brought in Teagan Croft to play Raven, and the young Aussie actress has yet to bring her talent stateside until now. The actors featured in the Titans audition tapes are also lesser-known. Nathan Policarpio, Oliver Adkins, Diego Josef, Zach Heto, and Louis Le are vying for Beast Boy – so you may want to jot those names down.
According to Omega Underground, DC is poised to announce its casting for Beast Boy soon. Titans will go into production later this year, so the clocking is ticking to complete its ensemble cast. A set of character descriptions for the show’s leads was released this summer, so you can learn more about Beast Boy’s role in Titans below:
“Funny and charming, this amateur thief’s humor hides his insecurities and past pain. Not the toughest kid on the streets, he’s learned to survive in the world with his wit and quick-thinking.”
If you want to get a taste of Titans‘ feel, then you can check out the gang’s newest animated flick: Teen Titans: The Judas Contract.
