It looks like Telltale is about to bring some narrative superhero action to the Nintendo Switch! This morning, multiple listings for Batman: The Telltale Series were spotted for the Nintendo Switch. You can find one of the listings here, and the other one is right here. While the Russian listing is a little more ambiguous, giving us a placeholder date, the fnac listing actually suggests a release date of October 6. Both listings share the same box art, which is encouraging.

This strikes us as completely feasible. This won’t be the first Telltale game to show up on the Nintendo Switch, since the first season of Minecraft: Story Mode is slated to hit the Switch soon. With both games, the Switch versions are running a bit behind. We’ll be starting our Minecraft: Story Mode adventure on the Switch while other platforms are looking forward to an imminent second season, and a second season of Batman was recently announced by Telltale as well. If Batman really is Switch-bound this October, then we’d expect an official announcement sooner than later.
Telltale games on the Switch are an alluring prospect — and a frightening one. These games would be perfect for the Switch’s pick up and play capabilities, allowing folks to pop in for a quick session to advance the story, or else for prolonged, intense bouts of narrative gameplay. It’s a bit frightening because Telltale’s engine has historically had a few performance issues on modern consoles, and we’re wondering if these won’t be exacerbated on the Nintendo Switch due to its lower spec. We hope that’s not the case, but we’ll definitely be keeping an eye on things.
“Enter the fractured psyche of Bruce Wayne and discover the powerful and far-reaching consequences of your choices as the Dark Knight. In this gritty and violent new story from the award-winning creators of The Walking Dead โ A Telltale Games Series, you’ll make discoveries that will shatter Bruce Wayne’s world, and the already fragile stability of a corrupt Gotham City.
“Your actions and your choices will determine the fate of the Batman. “
