Injustice 2 Player Overcome With Rage, Smashes Controller

Think you have rage problems? It's probably nothing compared to this guy. We've all squeezed our controllers in frustration, or maybe even set them down to go punch pillow or our chair in more extreme conditions, but I don't think any of us would intentionally destroy a perfectly good $60 controller over losing a single round of Injustice 2 like this bro.

Kotaku reports the following incident took place this past weekend at the Toryuken tournament in Toronto. This wasn't the final match of the tournament, or even a semi-final elimination match, but it was still pivotal in deciding who moved on to the next stage of the bracket. "Doctor Stabs" is controlling the ill-dated Brainiac there on the left, and "RedThrills" is holding down his zone with Deadshot.

You can see in the final moments of the match that Deadshot is working his corner with a rifle, meter-burning a few last shots from his rifle to take Doctor Stabs down. It was a little more than ol' Stabs could bear, and he ended up slamming his controller into the ground. The controller, which we assume was coated in a military-grade impact-resistant rubber, bounced off of the ground and shot straight into the atmosphere where we assume it fell into a comfortable orbit around the earth. Once every century it can be seen with a telescope passing over Toronto casting behind it a long tail which glimmers like salt.

Apparently Doctor Stabs had been doing well against RedThrills until -- we sh#t you not -- a controller malfunction threw him off of his game and destroyed his momentum. We regret to hear that a controller malfunction got in the way of Doctor Stabs' victory. Controller malfunctions are somewhat rare. What could have caused his controller to start acting up, we wonder? Did he take good care of it? Questions that need answers.

We're not all snark, though. The zoning game online in Injustice 2 is getting really old, really fast. There is a large current of new-to-mediocre players who are opting to select zoning characters and spam as many projectiles as possible to avoid going toe-to-toe. It can be very frustrating, but we haven't broken any controllers in the office... yet.
