Earlier this month Activision and developer Sledgehammer Games announced they’ll be unveiling Call of Duty: WWII‘s gristly new Zombies mode at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Well, unfortunately for them, it seems somebody jumped the gun, because the Call of Duty: WWII Zombies trailer has leaked online.

Activision is aggressively pulling down leaked versions of the Zombies trailer, so I won’t even attempt to link to it, but a quick YouTube search should turn up plenty of results. Or you can read a description of the trailer, below.

Call of Duty: WWII’s take on Zombies is looks to be much darker and moodier than what you’re used to from the series — no grindhouse silliness here. We’re treated us to numerous gruesome images of some sort of Nazi bunker, accompanied by voiceover by a mysterious mad scientist type, who claims to have created a zombie “Fourth Reich.” And then we see the zombies themselves, and boy are they gross – they truly look like shambling piles of rotting flesh. We also get hints of a larger, club wielding creature that will likely be some sort of boss. Finally, we get a title for Sledgehammer’s new take on Zombies – Army of the Dead. Are you ready for a true Call of Duty survival horror experience? Because it seems like that’s what we’re getting.

Unsurprisingly, the makers of Call of Duty: WWII aren’t thrilled that the trailer leaked early. Sledgehammer Games co-founders Michael Condrey and Glenn Schofield both urged fans to avoid the leaks.

The official Sledgehammer Games Twitter also implies the leaked trailer isn’t the final version, so we may get more at Comic-Con…

The Call of Duty: WWII Zombies will be officially unveiled at Comic-Con on July 20 at 11:45am PT. The panel will be an hour long, so expect plenty of additional information outside the trailer.

Call of Duty: WWII storms on the PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on November 3. You can check out all WWG’s latest Call of Duty coverage here.
